My 430 acts like that ,after we put in new seals in the hydro lift, It only does it if the arms are left all the way up in cold weather , I have hooked the arms to a short chain low on a post and gently bounced the clutch while having the hydro lever in lower position ,, Works every time , Jim

Does this tractor have standard hydraulics or is it a drafto matic setup?

Check the oil level in the front transmission. If no oil is getting to the pump nothing is going to happen because of the interlock valve on side of the hydraulic valve. It needs pressure to allow oil to pass through.

Kozmo, I think Barry may have the answer. I was looking in my Case 350, 500b, 600b service manual last night (Case didn't complete the manual set for the 630 and refers to this one) and I believe hydraulic fluid level or flow may be the problem. I have the manual scanned and saved as pdf files. If you will turn your email on or email me, mine is one, and send me your address I will send you the hydraulics section which includes the eagle hitch information. I found nothing specific about the arms not going down, but enough related information on fluid flow and drawings that I believe it will help you diagnose and solve your problem.

This helps. I can go into my service manual and owners manual for my 630 (virtually the same tractor except horsepower) and see what I can find. Keep monitoring this post and I will respond with what I find, but it sounds like a stuck hydraulic spool or valve. May take some disassembly and cleaning.

Jim

You probably already know this but have to ask to find a starting point, I do not mean to offend. Are you pushing the control lever backward from the neutral point location to drop the arms? Just letting the lever return to the neutral point will not lower the arms its not like Ford/Ferguson systems.

Ford has up and down positions and the Case lever should return to neutral when the appropriate height is reached. The lever must be pushed backward to allow pressure in the system to bleed back to the reservoir and the quadrant control should return it to neutral on downward motion.
