Can you use a diesel cam in a gas tractor? What will be the problems if any?

Jim the biggest problem you will have is the front nose of the cam is diffrent. The gas cam has a longer nose on it for some of the govenor parts. They both have the gear for the dist on them. On the diesel it drives the tach. A freind claims to have done this. By welding a tube to the nose of the diesel cam for the govenor. He said it gave it alot more power for pulling. The lift and duration on the diesel cam would be really diffrent from the gas. I still think it would be safer to send a gas cam to a good cam grinder instead. Thad

Biggest problem is that it doesn't have the center drive gear for the distributor... Gene
