Thanks for all the responses on my last post. I had a chance to go to the salvage yard today that has the tractor with the hyd pump. The tractor is a 1952 LA model. The pump is a single control pump. The control lever handle and linkage and hoses with couplers are already robbed off of it. When I move the lever on the side of the valve body it moves but is kinda stiff. The yard owner told me I could have the pump for $150 if I pull it myself. There are also three D's or DC's in the yard with pumps. The D pumps look very simular put apon close inspection the resovoir is diffrent (smaller). It does look like the actualle pump, and spool valve assembly that bolts to the back of the resovoir is the same on the D's as the LA. First question can the pump/valves interchange? (one of the D's has duel control valves and I was thinking of robbing these for he LA resovoir. Also are the control handle and linkages the same? (cause I would need one if I get the pump. How hard are these pumps to pull? If the snapring is removed off the pto shaft in the back will the pump slide off the back of the shaft or is it more involved? Is the above mentioned price sound good? Thanks for all the help.

Pumps, and valves from the DC's will fit right in the LA. Any pump from a chain drive tractor will work with a little work. Control levers will work, but the link from the lever to the valve might need to be longer. To get the PTO out of the tractor you will need to pull the trans. cover to remove the snap ring on the front end of the PTO shaft. The PTO shaft is different than the tractors with the motor lift so make sure you get it also. The hydraulic pump comes right off as soon as the 4 bolts are out and the oil is drained. Price sounds OK to me as long as you get everything that you need. Have fun wrenching! I hope it is warmer there than here (SD). Below zero here. DK
