Recently purchased a 430 case tractor from an individual and the serial # plate is missing, so I don't know the year model. My engine serial # is 2618686, not sure if that helps with knowing the yr. I'm having a problem that after running it for a while the 3 pt. hitch becomes weak and pushes fluid out of a small breather underneath the seat. Any help would be appreciated.

Derry, the seals on the rock shaft piston are probably shot and leaking hydraulic fluid into your differential case. Unscrew the great big thin hex bolt head under and on the left side of your seat. You will see oil pour out of it too most likely. This is the differential dip stick BTW.

If you need further info my e-mail is on. I haven't replaced these seals in my 630 but I have had the top end torn off which contains the piston so I have a good idea what's in it. You will need to drain the differentail and replace the gear lube (my 630 holds 41 quarts) to make it right. With it full I would guess it holds +/- 15 gallons of fluid. Also if you have never drained it be ready to get several quarts to several gallons of water out before the oil comes.
