I have a 1939 Case RC tractor and I am looking to find out what color the generator is. Is it black or orange? Thanks Micah

Klyde is right Gene. Our SC was purchased new in 1954. The mag, starter and generator were black. Don't quite remember on the aircleaner stack but seems like the pipe was flambeau and the dome cap was black.

Micah,

Here is a picture of one to give you an idea what this fellow in Ohio did to his RC.

Micah;
Originally the tractor was completely assembled and everything was painted Flambeau Red. Rebuilders typically painted all products black after assembly, so many are black. I prefer to paint them and the starter balck to give contrast to the colors. It is a matter of preference as to what you like. If you want it true original, it will be Flambeau Red... Gene

Beg to differ on that reply. NEVER saw a mag PAINTED on a new tractor! And I have pictures of brand new tractors that were delivered to my Grandfather with black starters, generators and on the SC the air cleaner was even BLACK.
