Looking to buy 1951 Case VAC, I was wondering if or what to look for as far as obvious problems that this model might have.

Steering seemed a little tight...

I never owned a Case therefore i wanted to know what to look for.

I assume it is a narrow front wheel set up? Steering is stiffer than the Farmalls of that era. There is a modification that involves cutting and lengthening the front rod at the grill to make it easier to steer, but if you keep it greased and the front tires aired up it's no that tough to steer.

The pto on these tractors are often bad if brush hog type rotary mowers were used. They don't carry much oil pressure but this is normal. I've been running one with 20 lb.for 10 years. The rear rims are hard to find, if they are rusted out. I found a set of ford rims and made my own clamps. All and all they are pretty good little tractors
