Guage goes to full when you ground the wire to the sending unit. Old sending unit either reads empty or full (not always right either). Got a new sending unit from Case. Doesn"t look like the old one, it needs a ground wire and shows that the guage should have a ground wire which 30 series don"t. When you hook up the new unit (with ground wire, out of tank) it only reads full no matter where the float is. Who makes a sending unit that will work or offers a sending unit with a original looking guage. Used a Napa sending unit on another tractor but had to use a guage with ground wire that looked like it should be in a race car.

The "new" ones from Case IH are a plastic POS! I put in my nonworking old one, it just looks better. Unless you can find an NOS unit. -Brian
