Shucks boys! The way to do this auction is to: get a room someplace fairly close with internet service, do your bidding online and, if you snag something, strap on your old .45, drive down there with your flatbed and posse (4 or 5 cousins, friends, nephews, fellow NRA members, etc.) ..... load up and leave 8)

Did anyone hear how the lawsuit against Mrs. Phillips went. I heard Aumann Auctions took her to court over breach of contract, because she signed with Aumann last year sometime?

DC-741, I take offense at your statement about outsiders. For a brief moment I considered driving up from Oklahoma to go to that auction, until I finished reading all of the fine print on the flyer I got in the mail. Please tell me what state you live in, DC-741, so I can be sure to NEVER visit it if everyone there has your attitude. You can also be assured that YOU are NOT welcome in Oklahoma.

Try living in Miami, Florida....which I did for a few years. It was commonplace for me to see ATF, DEA, and Sheriff's Dept in my neighborhood on a daily basis. Yes, there is often a small group of dishonest people in the mix that create problems, but you need to be very careful about making generalized statements that are so broad.

For the past few weeks the talks of this auction seems to have struck a nerve in more than 1 person. Please step back and look at in a business sense. A) take the seller, he hires someone to auction off all this stuff. An auctioneer probably doesn't have a clue as to start the machine, neverless sit there and discribe it to a tee. When people auction houses do you think they know how to build them? No they are there to auction, and get you top dollar. Most people who will show up that this auction should already know how the machine works. Say the auction house sells 100k in tractors that belong to the same person, that person doesn't want to cut into his profits so they state a 10% premium on top of that. That's how the auctioneer makes his money. It covers everything from advertising to details(traffic + security) and hired help. Granted it seems to come down to a greed thing but these people need to make a living. B) All the tax money going to help the town with probably much needed services and so one. C) Now you figure for every tractor that is sold, they are going to need parts/ rebuild services. I see alot of you have parts tractors and willing to sell stuff off them, Here's your turn to cash in. With all these tractors and equiptment now back in circulation the demand for some parts will go through the roof. Intead of going to scrap where nobody benefits besides the person scrapping them. Think of all the rusted out case's and deere's etc.. They'll need parts to be replaced or repaired. Now's your time to started advertising your own services or parts to make some spare cash. Do you rebuild mags/starters or anything to that extent? Don't sit around try to capitolize on what is about to happen. I'm sure if this auction is as big as they say, you can expect people from all over the U.S. buying stuff. In some case really old stuff. Lastly I think your comment on the outsiders was alittle outbounds. Not everybody who is going to attend is looking to steal your yard ornaments or rip people off with fake money.

I could be wrong, but I heard Kruse bought everything. Land bldg. I mean everything from Mrs. Phillips. But to read the sale bill kruse makes you think they are just a auction co,. to sell Garys Imp. to settle the est. This is false advertising. They should make it clear it is their stuff they are selling. Talk about greedy people....

You say don"t go. I don"t know about you and your auction experences but as for me I"ve never been to a auction where you have to pay to be in the crowd thats bidding. I know that on high priced items some time you have to show beforehand that your are sincere by having down payment money or all the money. But at this sale where it goes on for seven days, if you wanted to go all seven days you would put out $70 just to be there. And you said the seller wanted to make all the money they can so all the Auction fees (10% above your bidding price)are paid by the buyer. To me this is not good business practice but truly is nothing but crookedness....I know that this practice makes only serious buyers come, but it leaves a foul taste to the rest of us.
