Wow I had fun this evening. I finally (4 years after dragging it home) got my LA running tonight! Thanks to Walt and many others on this site over the years the old girl lives again! I don"t know how long its been since the tractor has run but I know it is at least 30 some years! When I drug it home it was a very sorry site engine locked up solid and cyls full of rust sand mouse nest etc. This has been a slow project because I can only work on it every now and then inbetween farming and everything else. I still need to do some work in the tranny so that it will drive but at least I know it runs! This makes me feel a lot better about the project. It is kinda cool to here something run thats been dead for that long! This is really the first LA I have ever heard run, and wow does it ever have a deep throughty sound coming strait out of the manifold with no muffler. I like it! Any ways I got to go to bed but thought I would take a moment and share the news with ya all! Thanks again for all the help everybody!

What year is it if earlier than a 48 then it should have only a straight pipe about 2 1/2 ft long if 48 or later the muffler is optional.

Combine Kid!
I remember reading on this site when you dragged it home. I hope it has brought you some measure of satisfaction to bring a piece of history alive. Just think of the farmer who bought it new and probably his children, how excited they were when it was delivered. You now have a bit of their experience as well. There is just something special about bringing one back to life. Good Luck with the rest of the restoration and Thank you for choosing CASE!

Congrats!!!!! ! Let the addiction start. I had the exact same feeling when I first got my 801 to run. Actually had chills! And I think that is prolly the first step in the "downhill" progress! LOL Good luck with the rest of your project. Post a few pics I"m sure others will be very interested.
Take care,
Larry
