The original tractor is a 1954 500 diesel. The block, crank, and heads are good on that engine. I have a early 930 (1960) block bare which i need a set of heads for. I found someone who has a several set of heads, but says he needs to know the serial numbers of the heads that i want which will fit on that block.. any help

If your diesel is rebuildable I'll swap you a fresh 930 LP engine for it. Emil me at: [email protected]

I believe (I think) that you will need to swap the whole engine on a 30 series tractor. the "00 series have common blocks and you can just change heads and the other accessories as others have mentioned. The fellow that wants to go from LP to Diesel would be the best solution if you 2 aren"t too far appart. Good luck.

Easiest way would be to just swap complete engines.

Texas Sand said: (quoted from post at 18:21:56 02/10/08) I have a 930 propane I'd like to change to diesel, maybe we can trade some parts out? I know next to nothing about doing this swap, does it require a complete engine change or just the top end and pump/carb ect.?

HI. I changed a 400 from diesel to gas, besides the heads and manifolds you will have to change camshaft gears to add governor.i did not have to change oil pump to drive distributor, but not sure about 930.my project worked good because wornout diesel still had good enough pistons and sleeves for gas. good luck. steve il.
