Case 1194 wheel conversion

I'm looking at purchasing a Case 1194 that has narrow 38 inch rear wheels and extended front axle spindles.

I believe this configuration is called 'row crop'

Unfortunately it sits too high off the ground for my liking, so if purchased, my aim would be to convert the tractor back to the standard 28 inch wheels and change the spindles back to the normal ones.

Does anyone know if that is all that is required to convert a 'row crop' 1194 tractor back to a standard 'paddock' tractor?

You need 2 outer front axle beams,( 880/885 beams MAY be the same ) and the 28" rears, 32" rears was an option for these tractors also. Dont know why they put her on 38" rears to make it Hi-clear, all you have to do is spin the reduction hubs round so the end plate faces down and replace the breather with a banjo bolt and pipe, retaining the normal rear wheels, there was a conversion kit to do it available from Browns containing the front axle beams, breather, and another step for the cabs, takes about 3 hours to convert with no help, done loads of them. Hope this helps, Richard.

Thanks Richard.

The dealer is looking at putting some smaller rear wheels on as an option for me, and I'll chase up the price on axle beams.

Regards,
Peter
