I suggest going on ebay.com and getting an original case SERVICE manual they are far better than the IT manuals and cost about the same.

You will find an oil drain hole in the bottom of the bell housing. You need to drain this oil out every time you change the engine oil. If there is a lot of crud built up in the clutch compartment, you may want to clean it with some diesel fuel. It could be slipping because of the crud build up from where the previous owner didn't chnage the oil.

Yea - the SC has a wet clutch they are made to run in oil shared with the engine crankcase. Might be able to get the clutch disk relined if it is worn. If it is not showing much wear maybe it just needs to be adjusted.

Would you believe the clutch is suppose to run in oil, thats just how they are. All it needs most likely is to be adjusted. If you plan to keep it buy an I-T manual for it. Clutch parts for the SC can be hard to come by. I know I have been trying for a few weeks now. I ended up takeing my parts to a machine shop to see if they could weld it up for me. Also would help if you gave the year or serial number and also what type of clutch if has, hand or foot and if it has live PTO or non live. Parts for them all all different.

WARNING, as per the I-T manual C-201 which is the one you need. When you put it back together you slip the pressure plate and the clutch disk on the transmission input shaft and then bolt the engine to the rear end, then through the clutch inspection plate you bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel. Because of it having the over center type of clutch you have to do it that way or you can/will run into problems when you try to put things back together
