I would like to put a front end loader on my tractor. My tractor is a 1958 311-B gas. Now I have two hydralic lines that come out from motor area and run out just to left side and next to my seat.
I do not know if that would work enough for a loader on front are not? So if not .. is that a hydralic pump that would fit on PTO to work off of. Are would that pto be to slow to drive a hydralic pump.
Has anyone attempted this before??

Your tractor hydraulic pump is rated 9 gpm @ 1200-1300 psi. It will run any loader that is compatible with a tractor that size. 311B is not a loader tractor, you’re not going to drive around with a lot of weight, especially with armstrong steering.

You can buy slip-on PTO pumps like at the link. But as old said it will be in way for pto work. You can lift the bucket for ground travel and slide the pump off, hang out away from the pto. Not worth the hassle when you already have the built in means of running the loader via the remotes. I have one of those pumps and 30 gal reservoir to run the 3 point backhoe on my 311B.

Front pto is nice if the loader has a self contained reservoir and you can find the front coupling pulley, drive shaft, pump setup.

I have a ’59 311B & a ’56 310 with FEL run off the remotes. Just got the front pto pump shaft for the 310 repaired and going to remount the pump, not that it is really necessary, just doing it cause I can.

Loader with all double acting cylinders is best, tractor hydraulic reservoir is only 3 gal.

Front pump the way to go. Pto reduces the RPM from the engine and then you have to use a gearbox to increase the speed back up to run a hydralic pump.

Many way to do it. Front pump, tap into what is there or the least wanted PTO pump. With the PTO pump you loose the option of using things like a brush hog because you can't drive both at the same time.
