Seen several pics of 58 case tractors on the 311B tractor. All I have seen was with a front end nose and lights off to side. Yet this one on ss number shows it to be a 1958 but this one has square nose with lights built into the front at top. 6098674 is my S# model 311-b Case
Don't they usually change the front end style at beging of the new year?
Below is pics of my tractor.

Hey Larry As far as I can tell everything is cool with that tractor except the 530 decals. Harry Case

300b did NOt have a round nose!! It was the squared, eyebrow front as was the 430/530/630 that replaced it in 1960. The 300 and 350 were rounded fronts and look totally different.

Is it possible that someone changed front end? in reply to Larry59, 01-30-2008 21:10:46
Is it possible that someone changed front end? I know the 530 on side of hood is all wrong. Turned it from round nose to a flat nose? Kind of ticking me off not knowing what I have are what is wrong here.

Got the info I needed.. thanks in reply to Larry59, 01-30-2008 21:14:23
Production of the 300 round nose ended 30 Sep 57. Production of 300B started 1 Oct 57 and ended 30 Sep 59. That is model years 1958 & 1959. Case model year in that era started at the beginning of the 4th quarter and ended at the end of the 3rd quarter. Model year is not the same as calendar year. If you bought a new 2008 car last Aug, would you say it was a 2007 just because it was built and sold in 2007? I don't know whether your serial nr is original to that tractor or not but it is for a model year 1958 number series "B" tractor not 1959. Thanks again. *S
