This may be kinda of a stupid question but I'd like to get some opinions from you folks.

I'm working on a 1953 DC-4 (WFE) and I'm about to buy a set of fenders for it. The only problem is that according to the Case IH parts site the fenders that I have found were only used from 1939-1951. My question is, how big of a sin would it be to put these on my 1953? The are in great condition and I feel that the price is pretty fair.
Thanks again all you experts LOL,
Larry

We had 54SC on the farm with the smaller fender on a pedistal, I would believe Dad was 2ndowner back in 62. Somewhere before I got the tractor back the fenders cam up missing and I relaced them with like set for $30.00. I also have 54 DC with same fenders. Had a 51 DC with big clamshell fenders.

Butch,
Thanks for the insight. But how the heck did you manage to find even the smaller fenders for $30.00? WOW! I like the bigger fenders but yeah I think that I'm gonna go with the ones on the pedistal.
Thanks again,
Larry

Thanks Dave but it's not a question of putting them on or not putting them on. The question is should i put on a set that I know is not the correct ones for this year?

John Saeli (jsaeli@rochester.rr.com) sells new reproduction fenders of the style used on the later model DC's and SC's. Did the late DC-4 have a different style fender?

These had the Case part number 3138AA and I don't think that John's are that part... But thanks for the input

It is your tractor--"I" would get them and put them on--if I found a good deal on the "correct" fenders I might switch them out later jmo gobble
