Not for sure what I have.. seems if I understand right from info. Case 530 did not come out till the 60's. Yet hood shows 530 and Ss # shows 311-B on it. ????? two more pics of this are in the tractor photo under Larry59. Taken any information. Do you some you have left me. But as shown above. I really don't know if its 530 or 311-B only are a 530 #311-B

Like the other post, everything I can make out in you pixs appears to be 311B with the wrong decals.

On top of the hood on the 311B in the back there is a bolted wrap cover for battery removal, in the center of that cover is a 6x8" lift off cover for the battery terminal & cell cap access.

In the top center of the hood is a 6x11-1/2" lift off cover for gas & oil fill.

The grill cap on the '58 has a small (6x6"???)lift of cover over the radiator fill cap. The '59 grill cap has a formed hole that the radiator fill cap protrudes up through, no cover.

The 311B has a 148 cid engine. Stamped vertically into the block above the starter on a milled surface you should find the engine serial nr. If original factory 311B engine a typical s/n will be 180R + 5 digits. Below the dipstick is block casting # G1000.

I am not all that familiar with the 530 but the gas engine is larger, probably 159 cid?, the engine casting nr & s/n will not be anything like the above.

So this might explain the hood and 530 mix up in reply to Larry59, 01-29-2008 20:24:14
So what you are saying.. someone has replaced the hood with a 530 hood. Hummmm On top there are two large retanglar hole openings. Which have no lids on then at this time. There is alsy a radiator hole in hood but the cap sets way down in. There are two other holes of small nature and see nothing coming out of them... ????

With the exhaust out the side of the hood instead of out the top of the hood, I'd say you have a 311B with 530 decals.
The tinwork around the dash is a dead giveaway, but I can't see it in this picture.
Also the 530 has a radiator cap and oil filler cap and gas cap sticking out the top of the hood. Don't see anything on this one.
