How much would a restored Case DC go for? It had a engine overhaul about ten years ago, and it has a hydraulic power lift. It has a magneto, hand clutch, new brakes, steering wheel, battery, gauges, and all the other things that you usually replace with a old tractor. All of the tin is good shape, and it has fenders. It has 15.5 tires with about 60% tread left. I can't post any pics because it isn't actually done yet, I just would like a ball park figure. Thanks

You may want to check the classifieds on this web site for pricing and watch for DC's selling on Ebay. I would say it is worth around $1,600. If it had a foot clutch, wide front, or Eagle Hitch, it would be worth more. New paint also adds value for some people.

Glenn is 100% correct. I just got done overhauling a 430 Case-great little tractor. Paid $2100, put $2400 into engine, clutch assembly, injection pump and injectors, and PTO. Haven't thought about tires yet, but I think I'd be lucky to break even. Dreaming is probably closer. I would guess to say your DC is worth about $1800. It seems that the only tractors that are valuable (and maybe profitable)are the really rare ones and then only if you're lucky. Don

I love old iron of all colors, but have a soft spot for CASE. We have about ten CASE tractors in the family ranging from a VAC14 to a 2670; all in operating condition. We have three DC's in service: a '51, '53, and '54.

I have done rather extensive restoration work to my high option '54 SC and '53 DC, but neither of them are what I would call "restored" yet.

I have kept all my receipts, but have made no attempt to keep track of my time. I have over $3,000.00 each into the SC and DC. I'm sure I'd be hard pressed to get my money out.

I did, however add adjustable wide front ends to both tractors and a foot clutch, double spool hydraulic pump and 14" rear rims to the DC. I sure figured out the only way of hoping to recoup my investment is by keeping the tractor equipped as it was when I got it. I think I'm a pretty good shopper, but sought after options are rarely found at a discount. However, like most on this board, I had/have no intentions of selling. This is my hobby.

Hopefully my rambling will be of some benefit to you.
