I hope that I haven"t messed up. We were putting in new sleeves in our RC case and we got almost to the end and we broke off a piece of the sleeve. It is just the top so I am wondering if we can make do with it or if we can JB weld it back on together. Please someone tell me some good news.

When you get the new sleeve . put the sleeve in the deep freezer over night. get a 100 wat light bulb and put in the cylinder hole for a hour or so. Get the sleeve out of the freezer and with a glove on make a fist and usualy you can go all the way down with one try.
But have a wood block and hammer ready as you might heed to tap it down.

I just bought 2 Case SC tractors (1 complete) engines stuck and 1 Case DC propane tractor complete (engine turns) will sell all 3 for $1500.00

Walt's correct. You need that lip for the head gasket to seal on. A block of wood across the sleeve and drive it in.

Sorry, the sleeve needs to seal against the head gasket so that you don't loose compression. If it had been the bottom of the sleeve, it might have been OK. I'm not familiar with the Waukesha engine. Is it a wet or dry sleeve? Is the sleeve symetrical? I don't see a top lip on it. Can it be flipped over?

You need to pull it out and get another sleeve next time make sure that the whole is clean an use lots of oil to slide it in. Use a block of hard wood on top of the sleeve and a large hammer (10 or 12 lbs.) make easy strokes the weight of the hammer will do the job for you.

Another look at the sleeve.
