Anybody know what the factory generator pulley size (diameter) is on a 530/630 tractor. I used the size of the one off the old Delco alternator sombody stuck on my 630 and now at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it pegs the tachometer in by beatifully rebuilt gauge cluster. The generator charges really well too (<: !! I am guessing my pulley is a little too small. The tach shows about 800 rpm at slow idle and I think this is too high, but not being completely rebuilt yet I thought maybe it was just idling a little fast although it didn't sound like it was running too fast.

Thnaks for feedback guys. 630crazy is going to measure his too so getting a random sample of 3 (in case yours have been changed at some point too) will give us all a good idea of what it should be. I had a hard time finding a pulley with the right ID and a keyway, but I finally found an older fellow that has a Gen/Alt rebuild shop that knew exactly what I was looking for and had a number of different OD pulleys. I just picked the one that matched the one I had, now I know it was the wrong size.

He treated me right on price too. I was figuring in the $15-$20 range but all he wanted was $5, hope he takes trade-ins (<:.

I'm thinking your right...at idle it should be about 500rpm. I'll measure mine this weekend on my 630.
