finaly haveing some luck took the pistons and head in to a place in town to see about rings and geting the valves unstuck (they will clean the head up like new) i had set aside around $800 nz for this he said it more likey to be half that witch sounds good to me :) my next silly question is how do i know if there is oil in the back end???

Link the link should take you to a photo of it but is it a 1942 not a 1944 had steel wheels on it when it was new not many tractors came to new zealand then with the war

Ben,
What year is your DC-4? I just picked one up this weekend and will be starting my work as soon as I find out all of the details that I need to know to make sure that it's right. I was told that it's a 1953-1955 btu I have yet to research the serial number.
