Ok I have a 801B with the single stick case-o-matic and I have a 830 with the 2 stick set up. Will these interchange? And if so is it as simple as switching the shifters and the trans top plate? Thanks all

Larry, The grinding is the nature of the com. When you shift gears make sure you idle the engine down as much as possible. Also come to a complete stop before you remove it from gear and then shift fast. Yes you can switch the shifters but you must frmove the trabs top and switch the whole shifter rail unit. This will take you a few hours. Your com will still grind with the dual shifters. You may try changeing the converter fluid to type A.

Larry, there was a similar post on this 4-6 weeks or so back and I believe I remember the answer was yes just change out the shifters. Do a search for this topic in the archives, it should pop up near the top.

Thanks James. I thought that I remembered reading something somewhere. The only reason that I'm even condidering the switch is because when I try to put it into gear it just seems to grind pretty hard. It'll eventually slip in gear but not with out grinding. Is there any adjustments to the main clutch? The plunger looks liek it goes all the way in when I depress the pedal...

J and Everyone else,
Thanks for the infomation. I have an IT book for the 800 and it has a section specific to the COM. I"ll keep playing with it and see what I can get to work. Dextron 3 and the Lucas lube sounds like a good idea.

Anyone happen to know the part number for that filter? The guy that I bought this off of gave me a box of new filters and I think that one of them is for the COM.
