Jim, I have had my 630 PTO unit completely out and disassembled. I used an expoxy shaft repair kit on it to fill pits and scarring. Turned off the excess build up and polished it back to the original OD, doesn't leak past the new seal anymore.

On the dry clutch model they come out and apart very easily. The drive shaft is about 3.5-4 feet long though so ahve a long spaced cleared on your work benck. To disassemble there is a big nut on the end of the splined PTO shaft, break it loose and slide the shaft out from the rear and the bearings come outwith the shaft. They will have to be pressed off. No real tricks to reassemble either, pretty simple. If your is the dry clutch moodel with what Case called independent PTO I think its probably just like my 630.

If you get in the middle of it and have a question just give me a call. I think you have my number, if not e-mail and I will call you.

thanx for info Jim , Mine is a dry clutch with a wet Hand Clutch ,Same as yours ,I would bet , Too many priorities ahead of this for now, maybe before Christmas Have you come to the best solution for your low Oil pressure Yet ?, ??? Have not checked My book ,,on 630 , Was wondering if Oil pump ran independant of Fuel pump , ( is Yours a Diesel or Gasser ) Or distributor ,, If independant You could have a off track gear , Just barely making contact ,,BUT YET GIVING YOU DRIBBLY OIL PRESSURE , My 429, 69 Merc convertible Gave me a lesson on this subject the hard way about 15 years back ,, 812 ,969 -2123 , Best wishes , Jim

Going to drain the oil and drop the pan next weekend. I could kick myself now for not taking the cover off the pump gears, gauging and looking, but when I found the relief valve badly scoured I thought I had it.

The oil pump on the 630 and your 430 too (probably) is driven by the gear on the crank that drives the cam. The oil pump mounts at the front of the engine and holds the front main bearing cap in place with common bolts. Not hard to take off, just a bunch of bolts on the pan and I guess I will ruin the gasket taking it off because the Case manual said to use gasket compound, which I did with a little consternation, I usually like to do like my Dad taught me and just use a little bearing grease to hold it in place and torque the bolts to spec.
