Case VAC clutch linkage

The clutch linkage on my Case (VAC5371159) apparently came loose inside the bellhousing.

When looking at the parts manuals available online, the linkage is more like the VAI setup than that shown for the VAC. (It is a straight rod from the pedal to where it enters the bellhousing.)

Did Case sometimes interchange parts between the two models?

It is a tricycle setup with two front wheels. This makes it a VAC-12 correct?

Thanks,
Charlie

Thank you all for your help. A farmer friend warned me to hook the frontend high when splitting to avoid tipping. I appreciate your helpful advice!

I had the same problem. it has been awhile and I do not remember what happened. It was not a big deal except for splitting tractor, I had just replaced clutch disk.

The clutch linkage is the same for all the models including the VAI except the VAC 14, VAIW, and the VAO. They had the platforms mounted lower and had pivots mounted on the torque tube. They are also diferent from each other, except the later VAO 15 which appears to be the same as the VAC 14. There isn't much to come unhooked unfortunately. The linkage has the ball made on the end. More than likely the rod either broke, or has worn thru the fork. It is also possible that the fork has worn or broke at the pivot ball. Good luck. You will have to split tractor to find the problem.
