I just bought a Case LA at a local auction. It has crome strips down both sides of the hood. Is this original or has someone just added them on? I can't find anything that shows chrome strips ever being put on the sides of the hood.

Do you think my LA would look good with chrome?

Do the chrome strips attach to these sideskirt holes, or are they attached somewhere else? If a 49 could come with chrome I would love to find a set!

Alan

Congratulations on your new purchase, I just bought a 49 LA also last month. I don't know much about them yet, but mine and every other picture I have seen of one has three individual one inch by 1/8th inch slots spaced down each side of the hood.
I wondered what they were for, but with your discription of chrome strips I can seen what they are.

Enjoy
Bill
