i was out plowing the other day when my electrial gauges ( such as fuel and water temp.) started surgin' , turnin' on and off within like 2 seconds. then i smelled hot wiring so i immediatly stopped and shut the tractor off. i then herd a light clicking and that was when the gueges would come on or go off. so i started it and shut the key back off si i had no juice going anywhere but to the battery. dorve back home and pulled the inspection cover off that is right in front of the cab and found that it was the curcut breaker things that were clicking. so i walked away for 2 hours to go do something else. it was still clickin' wheni left. then later when it clicked, the starter engaged and turned the tractor over. so i unhooked the cable to the starter from the batteries. no i had a guy tell me at the JD dealer that some wires might have been rubbing together and wore through the insulation and that was why the circut breakers were going on and off. anyone have a clue as to what might have happened? i know this is kinda vauge but that's as well as i can describe the situation thanks much for the help!! Can you tell which wire or relay was burning? Do a visual inspection of the wires on your tractor looking for burnt wires, relays and connectors. If you have a multi meter, and can't determine which circuit is bad, my number is (731)658-7086.
