On my 630 the carburator floods itself if I leave the shutoff open on my sediment bowl and so it drips all over the floor and starts hard. If I shut the sediment bowl off, then it drips even worse through the shutoff handle and all over the floor. Is there an easy way to repair these? Is there a packing material behind the nut that needs replaced? Can a guy buy parts for them anymore or do I have to purchase a complete new bowl assembly? Also, my other tractor has the wing nut handle busted off of its shutoff valve and so it has to stay on all the time. I'd like to repair it also if I could get parts. What do you guys know about these?

Please, what ever you decide to do disconnect the battery first, I had a leaky sediment bowl on My Case 430, which is close to the starter solenoid battery hot wire, you quess it I sparked it with an wrench, I caught myself on fire. Did the old drop & roll when I couldn't get the fire out. (arm on fire) by this time fuel bowl on fire raizing up side of tractor fire under neath of tractor from dripping gas. By the Grace of God almighty. Iwas able to get the fire out on me. Than I rip by coat off to beat the fire out on the fuel bowl & under neath the tractor. I was Damn lucky I could have lost the 430 plus 3 other tractors & 16x40 equipment shed In a manner of minutes, only damage to the tractor a little soot on the sheet metal which wipe off. Me I had a small 2nd degree burn on my wrist. I still Thank the Good Lord. So please work safe & disconnect the Battery Dave F.

New replacement sediment bowl assemblies are available. They sell replacements for some tractors on this website. You can probably stop the drip by removing the nut and adding a small amount of packing material. I've found it easier to just leave the sediment bowl valve open all th etime and buy an in-line plastic ball-type shut off valve. NAPA sells them for $7.00. You might want to think about getting an in-line filter as well.
