I have a 51 DC with the eagle hitch. I don't have wheel weights or fluid in the tires. I know where there is a 3 bottom 12" trailer Case plow. I am looking for some whel weights for my tractor so later that will play in my favor. The soil around here has some red clay but most plowed fields have better soil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My DC hasn't pulled a plow since I was a boy. Dad put big sleeves and pistons in it. We pulled 3 16"'s then in NW Iowa black dirt with no problem.

Dad bought our '51 new. It's pulled 2-14's in first/second gear with fluid in rear tires for 56 years...Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Hey Dale: Never saw a '51 w/ Eagle Hitch. The serial # on a 51 would start with 55-----. She will play w/ 3 12's.

I have a 1951 DC with an eagle hitch. Serial number starts with 55. (It is definitely not a 1952 DC transmission case.) This transmission case looks just like the '51 and prior, it just has the rock shaft housing that attaches to the upper lift arms. This must be a sample or test tractor for the eagle hitch. And, the transmission case number was not listed in the Case DC parts catalogs.

Depends on some on altitude too. Our SC would pull 3 14s in Central Texas black gumbo (fairly level ground about 1,000 ft above sea level). Same tractor would only pull 2 in Northwest Colorado (up pretty steep hilly fields in adobe soil 7,000 feet above sea level) DC is one level up from SC.

Dale,My dad had a DC Case and he pulled 3x14's with it in clay ground. Had plenty of power but just could'nt keep the front end down. We was thinking it may had a step up kit put in? It should pull the 3x12's ok. Mike

Dale;
3-12's will be a good match for the tractor as it is now. More common is 3-14"s with weights and fluid in the tires. If you anticipate plowing a lot of heavy trash or fodder, then 2-16's will work well, especially with weights... Gene
