Help!! My case IH 895 there is a plastic chamber attached to the hyd. lines above the brake control values. Should is this chamber have fluid in it. Mine show none, brakes are not very good. Just reseal right brake piston, and removed both control values and clean them. I have ran fluid though the brakes bleeders.

Any help would appreciated.

I had trouble with my 885 brakes. That plastic chamber is a pain to get at but the nipples have a steel liner in them that can come loose and cause the fluid not to get into the chamber. One of mine fell completely into the chamber and the mechanic told me that it would probably be ok that way. It is when they slide part way then the fluid isn't at the right level or no fluid. I ordered a new chamber but never put it on because it was such a pia to get at. I had no trouble until this summer when my brakes quit working. The chamber was empty. So I changed the chamber but couldn't get any fluid to it. Turns out the filter in the inlet line was clogged. The inlet line comes off another hydraulic line on the right side of the 885 in front of the chamber. The filter is a small screen inside the rubber hose. I put a hole in it getting it out and am now running it w/o a filter. Probably not smart but time will let me replace it this winter. Got to put it on my list. By the way on my tractor the left hand cylinder controls the right brake and visa versa.

Phil
