ok, so it's one of the last major things to tinker with on the LA and these Wagner Lockheed hydraulic turning brakes (both master and wheel cylinders) have had water in them for years! i've freed up the master cylinders, but the wheel cylinders are still frozen. having talked to a couple of Case guys i know, they say this brake was always trouble and few folks ever kept them working! to fix the ones i have, i think i would have to sleeve them with brass and go for an oversized kit. a lot of trouble! here in AZ i can't find the re-build kit for either. so that's my dilema. going to put a want ad here for the cylinders soon, but thought i'd check with some of the experts first. any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

I can tell you that the original Wagner parts numbers are no longer valid. The master cylinder was FE1050, kit FC5375, wheel cylinder FC1757, and kit FC3618. I went to the local NAPA store and they called Wagner and they couldn"t be found using those numbers. Apparently Wagner has changed the numbers, if they even still carry any parts for them.

Rick;

I have wheel cylinder cups. Had to buy a box of 10 to get the 4 I needed. Honing the cylinders good will likely make them servicable and you can reuse the plugs and expansion springs.

New master cylinders are available from Wagner. There are 2 cylinders that will replace the LA cylinders. Sorry I don't have the numbers.

The secret to keeping them working is to apply them often. Regular use keeps the cups and bores lubricated... Gene
