Went to Tractor Supply yesterday to pick up some 10 weight oil for the air cleaner on my VAC. They only sell it in the 2 gallon jug for 16 bucks!
Don't need 2 gallons of this oil, it would take me years to use 2 gallons up in my air cleaner and oil cans! My questions is what other type of oil can I use in my air cleaner that may come is a quart size bottle? Manual say's to be sure to use only a 10 weight oil or may cause air flow problems so don't know what would work ok? Any suggestions?
Went to the auto parts stores and they don't carry anything but standard motor oil (knew that before I went but had to try!)
Thanks Bob Smith

I have a couple of VA service manuals that state to use the same oil in the air cleaner as used in the crankcase.

Go to the link and click on page G2 D1. That is the latest VA service manual that I know of, dated 1959. The lube chart page in that manual is dated 2-54.

I use SAE 30 or 10-30 year around.

Put some 10-30 ,otor oil in it. That's all I ever used in mine.

Thanks Bob, I was thinking that myself but didn't know if it would cause any problems.
