I have a 510b tractor and recently picked up
a 600 combine with a good engine.I think the tractor motor is a 164cu in (could be wrong).
I don't know what the engine from the combine is, but would it fit the tractor?
There is a few differences but if the flywheel
would fit it looks like the bellhousing will.

your 510/500b has a164 cubic inch engine, the 600 combine has a 159 cubic inch engine same as the 530 gas. the 630 gas has a 188 cubic inch engine the 430 had a 148 cubic inch engine , as far as i can find out the 159 and 188 maybe longer but they should bolt in.. theproblem that i can see is that the starter has only two bolts on the 500 but maybe that can be redrilled in the bellhousing..i have a 600 combine engine, from what i can see the front and rear bolt patterns are the same, only problem is the starter.. i was planning to put it in a 610b..

I think the 600 used a 188 cu. Basicly the same motor with more CI"s, but it is slightly longer which means your hood won"t fit and you can"t use a 630 hood because of the differences. I might be wrong, but I think that is correct.

What difference is there between the 188 gas
and the 188 diesel dimension? I believe the 430,530 &
630 used it, and I don't see much change in
my 510 and 530.

I stand corrected. A couple of years ago I noticed that the hood part numbers on the 630 were different from the 530, so I asked almost the same question on this board. One reply said the block was longer on the 188... I knew the 430 and 530 also shared the 188D, but just let it go and didn"t think much about it until I came across your post the other day. After doing some more research, I noticed the frame implement rails are the exact same part number on the 530 and 630, so therefore the 159 blocks must be the same length as the 188"s. Now for the million-dollar question, Will the 188 fit the 510???? Honestly I would think it would, but I can"t promise that when you try to bolt it up some of the holes might be gone.

One more thing... your 510b is closer related to the 630 than the 530. The 500/600b"s were replaced with the 630. The 530 was the next generation 300b and 400b.
