WE ARE GOING TO PUT A471 DETROIT IN AN LA CASE. wE WANT TO USE IT TO POWER A SAWMILL.IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL NEED TO USE THE FLYWHEEL FROM BOTH UNITS, AND BUILD A SHORT ADAPTER SHAFT AND A PLATE TO PUT THE TWO BELLHOUSINGS TOGETHER.ARE THER ANY PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS? DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY INPUT ON THIS CONVERSION? WE CAN USE ANY AND ALL HELP ON THIS PROJECT.THANKS EGEL

I have a 3/71 in one LA and a 4/71 in another LA. I also have the plans to build one.

Most of the ones that I have seen were 3/71 GMCs they were bolted right up to the original bellhousing with an adapter plate. If you don't do it this way you will have to build a framework as the engine and tranny are the main framework for the tractor.

I would look at one that has been modified before doing it myself just to see how it is all done.

There was a kit to do that but the ones i've seen were 3-71's I think.
