Hi guys,
Does the com lever need to be in direct drive or can it stay in com while doing stationary pto work? We have always had dual ranges and powershifts, I know the powershift shouldn't be in reverse when doing stationary work. I couldn't find anything specific in my 730/830 com ops book, just the general pto stuff. I will have to look at my 800 com ops book. Thanks,
Brad

No difference which position the COM lever is in if the Tractor is stationary... which means the transmission is in neutral. Therefore no torque (load) is being transmitted thru the torque converter into the tranny.

There shouldn't be a problem leaving the thing in COM. After all that is the default position. In fact my grandfather took the COM lever off his 611b so hired folks wouldn't tear it up, and we did lots of stationary spraying with it when I was a kid.
