thanks for all the previous help . Im 99% sure its timed right plus every variation witin pump adjustment . Ive got manuals and have lined everything up accordingly.pump was rebuilt, Injectors were rebuilt ,head was rebuilt, starter was rebuilt all professionally. Iooked all over town today and cant find compression tester for diesel but am assuming that is all that can be wrong . is there anything im missing? Thank you in advance any input greatly appreciated .

Try a sniff of either....if engine was stuck rings are likely stuck and dry. It sounds like you have spent a lot of money already on this old girl.

Are you getting any white smoke out of exhaust when cranking? AQssuming compression an timing an other stuff is right an you are not getting smoke you are not getting fuel injected into engine. Remove lines at injectors an give half throttle than spin engine see if you get fuel out of lines.Always Keehands away from any high pressure leaks.

Was engine just overhauled or does it have lot of hrs. You may have said earlierbut if so i didnt catch iT. Since you ade getting smoke it seems as tyming is probably correct-at least not 180degrees off.Dou you think starter is spinning it fast enough?Have valves an seats ever been ground ? If so this could have lowered compression so you are on right track wanting to check compression.Have you tried a very small sniff of ether.?

Not what you want to hear but since you said engine was stuck an as Bradley Martin said you have stuck rings an that is giving you no compression causing it not to start. Might as well bite bullet an give a complete overhaul.Least check over parts an new rings at minimun.
