Does anyone on this site know what the maximum published horsepower of a VAC? Mine was checked by a dyno and apeers to be high at 26hp.I believe it should be around 21 hp. If this is true, why would i have this much hp at the pto? The pto turns 650 rpm's at full throtle with no load. Any thouhts wil be appreciated
Thanks Al

Does not suprise me with my experience with the VAC. 26hp is Possible with a VAC. .They got a whole lot more guts than the SC

From service manual VAC no load rpm 1600, full load rpm not to exceed 1420. PTO rpm x 2.710 OR belt pulley x 1.470 = engine rpm.

That sounds a little fast to me. If it has an oversize kit in it it probably would have about 24 or 25. The gas tested 21 max at nebraska on the belt pully.

My thoughts
