I just got a case 930 late model CK 8speed. I have not driven it much but it looks like the clutch is not fully returning after it is depressed.

Linkage adjustment? Pressure plate problem? Return spring? Is splitting nessary?

I'm not so sure about that pivot point diagnosis. I have an 830 with the same problem. All the joints seem more than loose enough. I have more than enough free play, but sometimes the clutch just won't return all the way! Then as I go down the field and go up a hill or turn a short corner, the clutch begins to slip. (Better fix it before I burn it up!) I think that maybe the throw out bearing is hanging up on the shaft. I'll need to open up the side inspection hole to see what I can. Any other ideas or advice?

Start with the simple things first. Is the return spring good, is the pivot pin lubed, is the linkage adjusted properly? Don"t go splitting the tractor until you check out all the external components.

This will sound stupid but you probably just need to spray the pivot point with lube. Its common for that to get dry and not let the pedal go back.
