Gentlemen, where is the best place or most likely salvage yard to find a good battery box. Many years ago we fabricated and mounted the box on the right side on our 970 & 1370 like the 90/94 series. Now I am putting a Case 70L loader on it and will have to put the batteries back under the platform. Due to fabricating it will take to much work to try and salvage the old box to reuse.

Thank you
Brad

Hi 560, Dads tractors had Allied loaders which have a lower side frame along side the engine than the 70 series loader and thats where he mounted the battery box along side the engine and attached to the loader frame. On my 70 series I was thinking of mounting some brackets that would attach to the loader frame beside the engine but allow me to drop the box about a foot. It will be a lot easier to see what would work best after the loader frame is on. If somebody close by you has 70 series tractor with case loader you could size it up. If I casn help with any measuring off of my tractor let me know, Garry

Might want to consider mountimg batteries on loader frame. Not sure you will be able to pull batteries out once loader is mounted ( back frame up to arm mounts will be in the way). I'm assuming you have a cab on your 970. I know on ours we can sevice or boost our batteries through access plate in floor boards, but if we want to remove batteries the loader frame has to come off. When the batteries have to be replaced on ours I will be mounting them on the side of the loader frame. Dad had done this with both 1070 and 1175 tractors he had and worked fine. My thoughts only, Good Luck, Garry.

Where are you located? I think we have one or two that look like new. Located in northern IN. If not close to me try Worthington Ag Parts.

Thanks for your input. I am in northeast IL. I was looking at mounting them to the loader frame also. But right where I want to put them is in the way of the brake housing & ps/hydraulic filters and with the tractor set for 30 inch rows there not much room to play with.
