Interested in photos or any information about existing CASE SS tractors. As an old timer was telling me stories today, he mentioned getting 10 from Case, only selling 8, and he kept 2 around the shop for the lifting capabilities. There is little info in past postings, so I thought I would give it a shot here. Thanks in advance.

BTW...It WAS a grove model with the box loader on front AND back with the extra 4th gear to get it up to 18mph. Not many purchased because it was too slow to get from the pickers to the trucks in a timely fashion.

Never heard of an SS. Could it have been a modified Model SO (orchard) tractor?

I'm not familiar with this machine. Are you describing a forklift mast on the front and rear of the tractor? Something like that might negate the advantages of a grove tractor. I wonder if they may have been an SI tractor with forklift masts. I know some of the industrial machines had the fast road gear.
