He clearly said 53 dc (that automatically made is 4 in. aluminum postons vs 3 7/8 cast iron)- the info you provided on hp only applies to pre-52 models and not even that. The same motor in an sp-12 was rated at 60 engine horsepower. On a dyno ours did anywhere from 45 to 60 hp depending on rpms 1250 vs 1500 and some carb work with getting rid of the cast iron air cleaner. I think If you checked the nebr. test on the gasoline dc - it was tested at 1100 rpms (number 340) and the dist. was tested at 1250 (number 349)in 1940.

After the war I never saw any dc's running at 1100 under load. Most dc's would make exactly 15mph in road gear (4 minute miles). At 1000 rpms with 12/38 tires they would have been making just a little over 10mph.

The last of the run in 52 or 53 had 4 in sleeves and pistons. They may have had 50 hp. Dads DC made a good wd45 look weak on a Fox single row cutter.

thanks guys from what I can tell it should be around a 45-50 hp thats what I thought just seeing it work my worn out jd works good and strong but this DC is like a bulldozer the owner abuses it on the bush hog cutting things I only would with a saw my JD is rated at 36 hp. and my cousins super c is (I think) 32 hp. and ours seem to work the same I just got mine and it needs some tlc that these other 2 have already got but I like the wide front on mine vs the narrow on theirs one day mine will look as good as theirs but 53 DC around $4000 with equipment super c was free but over $2000 to get it into great shape 65 JD 1010 I'm thinking by time I'm done I will have around $2500 including rebuilding the engine with some equip. and it was a family owned tractor but back to the original subject man that DC is strong!!!!! !!!!! !!!
