Why do you think it is wasting fuel,Smoking(normal),using more fuel than a 40HP tractor doing light loads??You are feeding a 400CID engine and 10,000+LBS.tractor.What is your useage doing what load and maybe we could get a better idea if it is wasting fuel or is normal.

Just why does it need the fuel turned Down? Have you ever had the INJECTORS tested? or better yet Replaced them ?LOW Opening Presure will Cause it to over fuel. I Would check this First Before PLAYING With the Fuel Settings.

DF; On the rear of your pump is a cover with 4 10mm head bolts. Remove this cover and you will see a screw that is locked with a 10mm head nut. Loosen this locking nut and back the screw out counter clockwise to lessen the fuel. One turn will make a noticable change. Be sure to retighten the locking nut.

As always when working with diesel fuel systems, clean the area throughly to prevene dirt from entering the fuel system... Gene
