Hello again Larry806,

I have checked up on the steel wheels for the "CASE" model "930" (early) and it gives the Part No as A11939, I am sure that is what the "LA" in question is fitted with, gives width as 11 1/8 inches by 54 inch diameter, there was also an extension for these wheels, Part No A7365M which was 12 inches wide by again 54 inch diameter.

I don't see these versions in the LA parts manual ('52). Looks like a good way to retro rubber to steel.

Hello Lary806,

Interested in the photo of the late model "LA" that you posted, fitted with the steel rear wheels. Yes, they will be genuine "CASE" attatchments, they are jost bolted on to the original "LA" cast centres.

I have seen these shown in the parts books for the later "930" tractors and some other models also, however I had seen a photo on the BB ages ago of a "930" fitted with the same wheels in the Armish country.

This is probably off topic. but why do the Amish replace rubber with steel on their tractors? Always wordered.

Just read the other night that it is to limit the temptation of using the tractor as a means transportation.

I dunno about Case, but I know that JD (and Minnie Mo?) had a setup similar to this. A farmer could bolt the steel wheels to his cast centers, or switch to rubber, if needed, using the same centers.

It was mostly for rice farming, but could be anywhere really.

Almost looks like a "reverse cut off". The center looks like a standard Case wheel center, and someone bolted wheat was cut off of another set of steel wheels and bolted them on. Unusual to see it that way...
