Does anybody know if there is a kit available to put a turbo on a case 870 diesel?

We have 5 870 Case tractors, 1 Gas =power shift [poor Excuse for a engine, not as power full as one would expect] 2 are power shift parts tractors, these both need some kind of engine work that some one Else did not do,we bought them in this condition, the last 2are gear drive ,the first I have owned for 25 years And Will Never get rid of it,it has no Turbo, has plenty of power with out one,and has never had the Fuel played with,The last one HAS a Turbo,Has way to much power for it own Good, before we bought it the last owner had to have Both Rear AXALS REPLACED[ IT TWISTED THEM OFF ,THEY WERE REPLACED WITH 970-1070 AXALS, they are HARDED Differently than 770-870 Axals]IT ALL SO has had several Clutch and PTO REPAIR The Turbo that was Installed on it was used on the Construction Verision on this one. BEFORE YOU PUT A TURBO ON YOUR TRACTOR,REMBER IT CAN GET VERY COSTLY IN THE REPAIR DEPARTMENT.

Since the 1370 has the same bore and stroke would not the rod and piston switch, and since this was a turbo engine it should have the heavier parts and possibly you could use the same turbo and piping off the 1370.

Case never put a turbo on the 870 - 336 ag engine. They used the same engine in construction/industrial applications. If you can find the used parts they will fit on the 870. You really should upgrade the power shift clutches to 970/1070 parts to handle the extra hp. We have two of them that we turboed. Makes a really handy 100 hp tractor.

Are we talking about an older 870 or a 1974 white/red 870 with the 336?

I have wondered if it was worth the time, expense and effort?

I must ask, when you add a turbo to this engine, do you need to replace the pistons too? Should you? Or will the stock pistons be fine? I was wondering about doing this if I aquire an 870.Thanks Rob
