I know there are some of you that are experts on Case tractors. I am not one of them and only owning my first one. Itis a 311B. I would love it if someone would take the time to give me al and any information about this model. It is a 56 roundnose. It runs great but I know nothing of the specs. Does the 300 series cover this one for parts etc? How many were made, are parts still available, etc. Thanks in advance for the info. I really like this tractor.

The underneath exhaust system was an option on these tractors and does not indiate a particular model or yr. 311b did not have a C.O.M. option as the 400b was the equivalent tractor with the C.O.M. Your serial # will give you the year...check out research & info on left side of YT home page.

That's right. Thanks for pointing that out. Case311, unless Joe(Wa) says that's a B I refuse to believe a roundnose is a B. I'll about believe anything Joe writes about 300s. There are several pics of Bs in the tractor photos that are square.

I owe u an apology, it is just a 311. I checked it out last night and the tag said only 311. From what I gather it is basically 300 series tractor. So knowing that if I would need any parts do I need to specify 311 or would anything on a 300 series fit, as I said I am new to Case tractors. I do have another tractor that is a Allis wd45. Both are great machines. Thanks for the info, does any one know how I can get a replacement tach cable?

Also on the left side of the transmission case is a hand lever that must be what is called the hand clutch as it takes the transmission out of gear and leaves the pto running.

This one has the triple range and the tag on the dash said 311B on it, the exhaust pipe runs under the tractor and the muffle comes out the back. I looked at the pictures on this site and it looks just like the ones titled 311B. Isaid it is a round nose because of the rounded grille that opens from the front. It does not have any power steering. It has the side pulley for a big belt if one wanted to use it. I need to replace some of the gauges as they are not all working.

Well, 311 is a '300'. the 11 stands for gas powered general purpose, I believe. If you have a 56 roundnose it cannot be a 311B. B's were square nose and were built 58-60. 56-57 were roundnose. There are three differnt tansmissions, I think. Dual range, triplerange and caseomatic. Although I'm not sure the caseomatic was available on 300 roundnoses.
Some came with hand clutches and foot clutches to provide a somewhat independent pto.

I restore the gauges for those tractors, and have replacement gauges for in it, Mostly the 12v ones though, hard to find the senders for the temp. and fuel gauges for 6v ones. I can test out the senders and if it's good would be able to put a new gauge in it. The fuel sender that is all, they didn't have an electric sender in them then for the temperature gauge. Roger
