I would like some help, got a case vao a couple of months ago and decided to give it a tune up as the gentleman I bought it from had given it an orange paint bath, painted over everything including plug wires, dirt grease, etc. I went and got plugs, wire, cap, button, points and did and oil change while I was at it. It ran fine for about a week and now it wont start. Can smell plenty of gas so I pulled dist. cap and there was green junk on the contacts on the bottom of cap and red on the tip of rotor and now am getting no spark out of the coil. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The points are probably corroded. You need to file the points a little with very fine sand paper or an emery board type nail file.

Did you make sure you used solid copper core wires? The silicone automotive ones wont work very long on a tractor...good luck..
