Wondering whether you replaced or repowered the tractor. My 4490 still runs extremely high exhaust temps even with the schwitzer turbo but haven't seen any aluminum coming out yet. Any suggestions? Thanks Tom

How high are the temps? I assume if they are that high either you have a intake or exhaust restriction or someone has turned the screw to her!

Stock pump setting put on the dyno in the winter. Checked the intake restriction replaced inner air filter will run as high as 1.6 inches water with gauge on intake and full load. Checked Muffler with flashlight top and bottom can't see anything wrong. Have not used pressure gauge on exhaust side yet. Timing is very close or dead on. Used service manual method with dial indicator. Water jacket stays cool or at least it doesn't blow any water out. Running 3LM466 turbo which replaced 3LM353.
Ideas appreciated.
Tom

Don't know why I didn't put that in. Seems to run 1300-1400F according to my preturbo isspro pyrometer. I drilled and tapped this into the rear half of the manifold center under the turbo. This concerned me enough I sent the pyrometer lead wire, thermocouple and gauge back to isspro to have them check the calibration. The post turbo unit in the dash always seemed to run right at the red. That is until it quit recently. Thanks Tom
