I Am finally getting to the point were I can work on my Chistmas present... I Borrowed an Engine hoist, and removed everything in the way.(basically stripped the tractor), supported under the torque tube and placed the engine in a "cradle", lifted the cradle just a hair to seperate the block from the tube... NO luck. After working for about and hour I have 1/8 of an inch between the to surfaces. All the perimeter bolts are gone. HELP!!! WHAT AM I MISSING!!!! probably common sense!

I'm confused by "torque tube". SC doesn't have one. DCTom is correct, remove pulley brake assembly not just disconnect from hand lever. Use 3/4" x 13-13/16" splitting dowels in the 3/4" holes and a jack under "transmission case", block rear wheels, tranny in neutral, push front end away from rear. Best I can remember. Good luck great old tractors.

sorry about the terminology... new to this.

Evidently the input shaft is stuck to the throwout bearing!?

sorry, went back and looked at the manual... the clutch linkage appears to be external... and thus has been disconnected.

Forgive me... I am doing this on my own with no experience. would I disconnect the linkage at the lever or in the tube? can you describe what I might expect?
