DC-3 Serial Number - DCTOM Can you help?

The serial on my DC-3 is 5520597 (on the engine block) and 520597 on the plate on the dash. Can you tell me any info about it - at least if it's a 1951 as I previously thought?

Chris: Look carefully at the plate on the dash. I think you are missing the first digit which is sometimes obscured by the screw holding it on. All the rest of the numbers match so I'd guess it is a 1951.

CRIS; YOUR ENGINE IS A 1951 AND THE REAR END IS A 1948, PERHAPS SOME ONE CHANGED ENGINE'S, COULD BE THEY BROKE A CRANK OR A ROD IN THE OLD ONE TOM
