I bought a 970 powershift and the 3-point does not work correctly. When you pull 3-point lever on console it may take a couple of minutes before arms start to raise. When they do raise you can stand on them and stop their motion.
Powershift, power steering, and remotes are working correctly. I have changed the filters and new oil. I have pulled hyd. pump and cleaned suction screen and replaced o-ring on suction tube. I have read the IT manual and all I can figure is that I have a stuck valve? Where should I start? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting your draft control? I bought one one time and the owner said the three point didn't work. I brought it home and called my wife's uncle who is a case mechanic and asked where I should start. He said adjust the draft control, and it worked like a charm. Lifted many round bales and ran a 3pt snowblower on the 3pt. after that.

Is this the valve that is under the platform? What do I need to take apart to clean?

Take off side cover, 4 bolts. Be real careful not to lose any parts! Pull parts out, keep in order on bench. Remove main spool by taking off snap ring, spring and pull out. You can now wash it. What your looking for is for the 1/2" diameter ball to move freely in the bore. It should drop right thru. Good luck!!

TomVAC, I read the IT manual- Can I remove the side plate on that valve and clean the internal parts and bore without removing the whole valve?
To remove the whole valve looks like I might have to jack up the cab because a cross brace runs right over the top of it. Thank you for your replies.

I forgot, yes the valve is under the seat. Follow the I&T manual for removal etc. You should be in good shape.

Your 3 point draft-o-matic valve needs to be cleaned. I think its the lowering ball (1/2" dia.) that hangs up in the bore.
