Case SC PTO slipping

I have an SC That for a few years now I've enjoyed mowing the meadow with. This year I'm afraid I've let the grass get a little tall and the poor Case SC paid the toll for it. As the PTO slowed to a stop and wisps of smoke ommitted from the shifter, I knew this is not good! And so this is my series of questions: I doubt it but is there any adjustment for the PTO clutch on the SC? If I need to replace the clutch can I get to it from the top or will I need to split the tractor? What will I be looking at when I get it apart...will it be a cluster of disks, as some tractors? And where is a good supplier for parts when I'm ready for them? Thanks for the help given to me in the past and for the help I'm sure to get on this little problem. Good to have a site like this to come too thats able to help solve problems! Danny Tabor

I'm assuming it is a live pto clutch slipping - get a manual and the adjusting tool and tighten the clutch. You do it through the oil plug. Basically the same method as adjusting a hand clutch.
