Here is a link to the La Pean Implement closeout sale. I might try to skin up that way if its raining. The auction company is good friends of mine and I am glad to see they will be the ones working it. They were also they ones that held the auction for Barneveld Implement auction a few years back. They too was a old line case dealer. Now they are a CaseIH under Ritchie Implement magament.

Hey Bob, What was sold at the Barneveld auction? My dad and grandpa bought a lot of equipment from Ernie when it was still Barneveld Implement. Our farm was around the Dodgeville/Mineral Point area. Where are you located?

They sold all the used part inventory and line of machinery on the lot. They also sold all the goodies down behind the buildings too. I brought home as much as I could afford that day. I never even made a dent. Stripped down tractors with a few goodies left went for 20. This was when scrap was still low. They sold their pulling tractor that day also. I never did here wher it wnet too. I am down at darlington. About 13 miles from Point. I deal with Fritz up to Farmers Store from time to time. I want to say it was 5 or 6 yrs ago. I can not rember if I was married at the time. Where was your farm at? I grew up here in Darlington.

Our farm was between Dodgeville and Linden on county Q in the area known as Bloomfield. I live in Pittsburg, KS now. Fritz is an old family friend also. I remember him when he was working the parts counter at Barneveld before he bought the Farmers Store. Got to see him a couple of years ago while visiting. Next time you see him tell him Hello from the Jewell's, Dick and Shaun.

Was it the 970 pulling tractor that was sold at Barneveld? That was one screemin machine. I believe that was Bruce's baby if I remember correctly. Dad bought a 1570 from Ernie back in 77 or 78 that they were using for a pulling tractor at the time. I think it was it putting out around 200 hp when we got it, I don't know what they had it turned up to when they were pullin with it.

Yeap I sure know that part of the country your talkin about. I drove to tech school in Fennimore for 2 yrs and drove alot of the back roads just for a change. Yeap it was what was left of the 970. I forget what model of tin was on it when they sold it. It had a OMG 504 in it when they put it on the block. I farm with mainly case but the first tractor I bought and rebuilt myself was a 77 oliver. I spent alot of time up at the farmers store getting parts.
